Stan Wawrinka (VCORE Tour G, SHT-PRO) is into the US Open quarterfinals after a heated three hour, four-set encounter against Tommy Robredo. Stan vigorously took the first set, saving the set point as his opponent was about to serve out. Leveled at a set each, the two took the third set into an intense tiebreaker. In a pivotal moment for Stan, he knocked away two set points to fiercely capture the set. Stan dominated the final set, with Tommy unable to get ahead. Stan hit an incredible 75 winners against his opponent’s 19, with 18 aces over the Spaniard’s five. Stan even dove into the crowd at one point to get a shot. While the Swiss star was silent for a few seconds, people cheered when he gave thumbs up, and made his way back to the court. The final score was 7-5, 4-6, 7-6(7), 6-2.
Stan can bolt around the court swiftly with his SHT-PRO shoes. Equipped with YONEX’s POWER CUSHION, YONEX’s tennis shoes offer a firm but soft feeling in the feet, allowing for comfortable movement. A while back, we had Stan take look at our POWER CUSHION test, where we dropped an egg on the cushion from seven meters above, with the egg bouncing four meters off. Check out a video of the test here.
