The All England Gets Off To A Flying Start

Day 2 of the YONEX All England Open Badminton Championships saw the world’s finest players take centre stage as the main draws for 2013 got under way.


Men’s Singles top seed and World No. 1 Lee Chong Wei(VTZF) faced Wong Wing Ki (ARC10) from Hong Kong. In a thrilling encounter Chong Wei fought back from facing match point twice to take a narrow victory 13-21, 21-6, 23-21.


Explosive Danish duo Mathias Boe(VT80) and Carsten Mogensen(VTZF) produced an excellent performance in the first round. The World No. 1 pairing dispatched Indonesia’s Angga Pratama and Ryan Agung Saputra 21-18, 21-19 to make it safely through to round 2.


Away from the courts, many of the world’s elite players dropped by the YONEX trade room to get involved with our new promotional campaign. The Perfect Choice for Your Game has been endorsed by global badminton superstars Taufik Hidayat(ARC11), Christinna Pedersen(NR800), Kamilla Rytter Juhl(NR800), Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen.We have many more players who will be joining in the campaign over the next few days so stay tuned.
