The Yonex Stringing Team at the Thomas and Uber Cup

The Yonex Stringing Team is on the ground at this year’s BWF Thomas and Uber Cup Finals working hard every day of the tournament to support Team Yonex players. The team assembled is made up of seven local Chinese stringers.

Among the seven is a veritable stringing veteran, one Mr. Cui Zhaohua. Noticing the increasing population of badminton players in his country, Cui took up stringing in 1992. He was a stringer at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and was in charge of stringing racquets for none other than badminton Legend Peter Gade. “Peter requests tension in increments of 0.5. He needs his stringing precise,” speaks Cui, who prides himself on expertly executing player requests. He has this to say looking toward the rest of the tournament, “All of us stringers are a team. We have to work together and get work done as efficiently as possible.”

Another member of the seven is Chen Siming, who boasts a stringing career of seven years. He takes very good care to listen carefully to his players’ requests. “Lots of European players like to stretch out their strings before stringing, but there are other players who request pre-stretches,” comments Chen on the differences in requests in players of varying nationalities. Chen is honored to be part of the Yonex Stringing Team, “Yonex really takes care of us stringers. It’s truly an honor to be on this team, stringing with great strings and great frames which come together to make great racquets.”

As always, the Yonex Stringing Team is committed to providing Yonex players with top support so they can bring out their top performance.
