Wozniacki Wins the First WTA Title in a Year

Last week Caroline Wozniacki (VCORE 100S) competed in KDB Korea Open. It became a great week for her to achieve an overwhelming victory against No. 3 seed Kaia Kanepi in the final by 6-0 6-1. Caroline won the first WTA title since she became a winner in New Haven Open 2011.

In Japan, Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis has taken place from Sunday, September 23rd. It was a rainy day so that some of the matches were postponed. There are 10 YONEX ladies in main draw, and 7 of them play the opener today. 2010’s champion Caroline is seeded as No. 10 and faces the qualifier Bojana Jovanovski. We believe that the Korea Open title will give her a strong impetus in Tokyo again.

2007’s finalist, No. 11 seed Ana Ivanovic (EZONE Xi 98) faced the other YONEX player Andrea Hlavackova (RQiS 2 Tour, PTGP125), and Ana advanced to the 2nd round by Andrea’s retire.

Su-Wei Hsieh (RDS 002 Tour, PTGP125) has the opening match against Klara Zakopalova today. She also played in GRC Bank Guangzhou International Women’s Open last week. Su-Wei advanced to the final and defeated Laura Robson (GBR) by 6-4 6-2. It’s the second time for her to win the WTA tournament title.
