Australian Open: Strong Starts for Team Yonex

The main draw of the Australian Open got underway on Monday, January 16th with exciting first round wins from Team Yonex.

Grand Slam Champs Prevail

3-time Grand Slam champion and No. 4 seed Stan Wawrinka (VCORE Duel G 97, POWER CUSHION ECLIPSION) took to the Margaret Court Arena for a full-set first round thriller against Martin Klizan. Stan The Man put up a strong fight against the tenacious Slovak, gradually finding stable footing to dispatch him 4-6, 6-4, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4. Harnessing the ball-crushing power of his VCORE Duel G, Stanimal fired off 21 sizzling aces and 60 winners.

Armed with her powerful, game-changing POLYTOUR FIRE 120 string, Angelique Kerber (VCORE) got her title defense off the ground, winning 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 against Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko. The World No. 1 German rushed to a 6-2, 2-0 lead with her potent low crouching shots and explosive drop shots.
