The quarterfinal match saw Belinda against Hsieh Su-Wei (RDS002 Tour, POLYTOUR PRO 130, TOUR SUPER SOLID-X 125), where the 17-year-old Swiss continued to excel. While the YONEX player from Chinese Taipei did her best to get the edge over her Swiss rival by hitting three aces and taking the match to a deciding set, it was Belinda who came out on top. The US Open quarterfinalist hit five aces, won 79% of her first serve points, and broke her opponent’s serve six times, winning with a final score of 6-4, 4-6, 6-2. The final placed Belinda against American Alison Riske. Belinda played fiercely, leveling the match after being lead 6-3, 4-1 by winning three straight games in a row, and managed to hold a break point in the following game. While Belinda was unable to win the title, she reached a new milestone in her career making it to her first WTA final.
