Borna Coric wins first Challenger Title at Izmir Cup

Rising star Borna Coric (VCORE Tour 97POLYTOUR SPIN) has made another fine achievement, grasping his first Challenger title this past Sunday at the Izmir Cup in Turkey. Facing off against number one seed Malek Jaziri, the young Borna showed no signs of nervousness as he confidently took the first set 6-1 in a brisk 20 minutes. In the first set he won 100% of his first service points, and broke his opponent three times in a row. While Malek turned up the heat in the second and third sets—bringing the second set to a tiebreaker—Borna took each of them, winning the match in straight sets, 6-1, 6-7(7), 6-4. Borna landed five aces against his opponent’s one, and broke his serve six times across the match, while his opponent was only able to break twice.
