TOKYO — Hubert Hurkacz (POL) was the only ATP player to serve more than 1,000 aces during the 2023 season, just one of the many highlights for Team Yonex on the tours this year.
This is the second article looking at what Yonex players achieved in 2023 on the ATP and WTA Tours.
Hurkacz served up more than 1,000 aces
Showing what is possible with an isometric-shaped PERCEPT racquet in hand, Hurkacz served 1,031 aces over the course of the season, becoming the first man to go into four figures since 2019. The head-to-toe Yonex ambassador was only the ninth man to power above 1,000 aces in a season since the ATP started collecting data in 1991. Hurkacz was way ahead of all other players in 2023, with no one else going above 700 aces, and that mighty serve helped the Pole to win the Marseille tournament as well as the ATP
Masters 1000 in Shanghai for what was his biggest title in two years.
A tenth career ATP title for Ruud
It was the season that Casper Ruud (NOR) hit double figures, with his victory in Estoril taking him to 10 career titles on the ATP Tour, all but one of which have come on his beloved clay courts. That victory in Estoril was in addition to the head-to-toe Yonex ambassador reaching the final of another clay-court ATP tournament, in Bastad, as well as a Grand Slam final at Roland-Garros.
Noskova’s big debut
Still only 19 years old, Linda Noskova (CZE) has already made a huge impression on the WTA Tour. After a fabulous breakthrough year in which the teenager played in her first two finals on the WTA Tour – in Adelaide and Prague – the head-to-toe Yonex ambassador finished the season at No. 41, making her the youngest player in the top 50. In recognition of her achievements, Noskova was nominated for the WTA Newcomer of the Year Award.
